About Morganix

Morganix initially developed Pro Jel as a pre- and post-exercise rub for horses and to compliment Pro Joint, an equine oral joint supplement Morganix developed and registered with the Dept of Agriculture South Africa.

To our complete surprise we discovered Pro Jel was being used by the riders themselves for their own aches, strains and joint pain, rather than being applied to their horses. We then started to get enquiries from the general public wanting to know where it was stocked. We even received calls from abroad.

Coincidentally, at this time, Margie Petherick of Morganix, went on holiday to Florida in the USA. The Florida population comprises a high percentage of retired individuals due to its temperate climate and relaxed seaside lifestyle.  Margie happened to be in one of the large pharmaceutical chain stores and noticed that the joint supplementation section in store was larger than the pain relief section. She remembered thinking to herself; ‘WOW, natural joint support is really big business here’.

We realised that the States were far ahead of SA in this field, coupled with the fact that baby boomers are now 60+ and wanting to remain physically active, pain free and live longer with a higher quality of life than any generation before them. Margie came back to South Africa and decided to target the human market with Pro Jel.

In mid 2008, we launched with one 150g tubed gel. After six months or so, we felt we did not have enough shelf presence and had made some branding errors in terms of typeface, tube size and colours, as people thought Pro Jel was a hair gel.

We made a decision to completely re-vamp Pro Jel, extend the range, make the composition natural, redo the typeface and overhaul the whole branding look, trademark the logos and brand names, own the formulas and register with the MCC.

Morganix’s Pro Jel range has been developed in conjunction with the expertise of a formulating homeopath, bio chemist and chemical analyst.

All manufacturing is carried out at pharmaceutical facilities, so that quality control is maintained, under ISO 9001 and ISO 2000 standards.

The Pro Jel range of products are not scheduled and will be registered under the MCC Complimentary Act.

Pro Jel is endorsed by Bruce Fordyce, 9 times Comrades Champion.
